Teogonia TV Anime Set to Premiere in April 2025, Celebration Illustration Released

A new celebration illustration for the upcoming Teogonia TV anime has been unveiled. The artwork, created by character designer Koichiro Kawano, is a tribute to the series. Kawano, known for his work on Teogonia and Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, is behind the series’ original illustrations.

The anime is scheduled to debut in Japan in April 2025. It will air on TOKYO MX and other local channels.

Directed by Kunihiro Mori (Phantom in the Twilight), the anime adaptation also features Tomoyasu Ookubo as the series’ screenwriter and Kenji Fujisawa (Baki Hanma 2020) composing the music. Animation production is handled by Asahi Production.

The main voice cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Kai and Kana Hanazawa as Jose.

Teogonia started as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on August 7, 2017, written by Tsukasa Tanimai. The story was later adapted into a light novel series by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha’s PASH! Books in March 2018, with new illustrations by Kawano. As of June 2019, three volumes have been released. J-Novel Club publishes the light novels in English digitally.

A manga adaptation by Shunsuke Aoyama began in 2018, and has released 12 volumes as of July 2024.

Crunchyroll will stream Teogonia internationally, excluding Japan. The series’ plot centers on Kai, a village boy from Lag, who joins the fight against invading demi-human tribes in a world engulfed by war. As his comrades fall and he is injured, Kai starts recalling memories from a past life, leading to a tale filled with magic, mystery, and heroism.
