Crunchyroll has unveiled the official poster for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, generating excitement for the highly anticipated continuation of the popular anime series. The new poster highlights the upcoming introduction of Captain Gen Narumi, a fan-favorite character from the original Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto.
The anime follows Kafka Hibino, a man living in a world terrorized by giant creatures known as Kaiju. Kafka, who once dreamed of joining The Defense Force, is determined to fulfill a promise made to his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. After years of working in the clean-up crew following Kaiju battles, Kafka encounters Reno Ichikawa, whose drive to join The Defense Force reignites Kafka’s ambition to protect humanity alongside Mina.
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Release Date
Season 2 of Kaiju No. 8 is set to premiere in July 2025 on Crunchyroll. Before the season debut, Toho Animation will release a compilation movie of Season 1, slated for March 28, 2025, in Japanese theaters. Along with the movie, fans can look forward to a special episode titled “Hoshina’s Day Off,” which will also be released on March 28.
Directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya, with a screenplay by Ichiro Okouchi, Kaiju No. 8 is produced by Production I.G and Studio Khara. The latter studio is responsible for the design and artwork of the Kaiju in the show. The voice cast includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, Wataru Katoh as Reno Ichikawa, Fairouz Ai as Kikoru Shinomiya, Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina, Yuki Shin as Iharu Furuhashi, Keisuke Komoto as Haruichi Izumo, and Shunsuke Takeuchi as Aoi Kaguragi.
