Disney Animation has teamed up with renowned animator Gensho Yasuda to produce two anime shorts tied to Moana 2. The sequel, which debuted in the U.S. on November 27 and in Japan on December 6, has captured the attention of audiences worldwide.
Yasuda, known for his direction of the anime Make a Girl, was entrusted with the task of recreating iconic moments from Moana 2. He utilized the songs “Beyond – Koete Yukuo” and “Return to the True Me,” both of which were performed by Yabiku China, to complement the visuals of the shorts.
In a statement, Yasuda expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, “I have always been inspired by Disney works, so I was very happy to be asked to create a 3D animated short for Moana 2, a Disney film beloved all over the world.”
This collaboration marks another chapter in the global expansion of Disney’s iconic Moana franchise, blending traditional animation with contemporary anime influences.
