An anime adaptation of the popular visual novel Gnosia has been officially announced, with plans for a 2025 release. The announcement was made by Aniplex, which also released a teaser trailer on its official YouTube channel. In the trailer, a voice, presumably belonging to the character Setsu, can be heard, though the identity of the voice actor has not yet been revealed.
Aniplex has also launched a dedicated website for the series, where fans can expect to find updates and additional announcements as the production progresses. The key visual for the anime features Setsu holding the Silver Key while shards of glass appear to shatter around them, adding a dramatic touch to the teaser.
At this time, Aniplex has confirmed that the Gnosia anime has been greenlit, but further details regarding the plot, cast, and production timeline will be unveiled in the future.
Gnosia, a single-player social deduction visual novel, was first released on the PlayStation Vita in 2019. The game centers around a group of NPCs aboard a spaceship in the distant future. The core gameplay follows a format similar to popular games like Mafia or Among Us, where players must identify and vote out the “Gnosia” – an alien virus that infects members of the crew and causes them to kill others. The game features a looping mechanic, with each cycle uncovering new details about the overarching mystery.
The game has been well-received and is available on multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
The Gnosia anime is currently in production, and fans can expect more information as the release date approaches.
