The anime adaptation of From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! (also known as Akuyaku Reijo Tensei Oji-san) has officially set its premiere date for January 9, 2025. Based on the manga by Michiro Ueyama, the upcoming series will air in Japan and also stream internationally on HIDIVE.

A new trailer for the series has been released alongside a fresh key visual, offering a glimpse into the world of this unique fantasy story. The anime’s cast has also expanded, with several notable additions joining the project.

About the Story

From Bureaucrat to Villainess follows 52-year-old Kenzaboro Tondabayashi, a middle-aged bureaucrat who finds himself reincarnated in an otome game-inspired world. However, instead of a hero or prince, he is reborn as the villainous daughter, Grace. As the story unfolds, Kenzaboro must navigate this new life while dealing with the challenges of his unexpected reincarnation.

Production Team

The anime is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, with Shingo Irie handling series composition. The character designs are led by Haruka Matsunae, while Yuki Miyamoto is responsible for monster designs, and Ryo Hirata oversees prop designs. The music will be composed by a team including Natsumi Tabuchi, Misaki Tsuchida, Tsugumi Tanaka, Reiko Abe, and Kaho Sawada. The series is being produced by Ajia-do Animation Works.

The From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! manga has been serialized in Shonen Gahosha’s Young King Ours GH magazine since March 2020. Fans of the series can look forward to the anime’s official release in January, with episodes streaming on HIDIVE as they air in Japan.
