Demon Slayer Season 4 Reclaims Top Spot on Netflix’s Global Rankings

by Hazel

Three popular anime series have made significant strides on Netflix’s global charts, with Demon Slayer Season 4 once again taking the spotlight as one of the most-watched non-English TV series.

The anime phenomenon Demon Slayer has long been a top contender in Netflix’s non-English TV rankings, and its latest season, Hashira Training Arc, made a notable comeback this week. Following its initial release in select regions from May to June 2024, the season wrapped up its eight-episode run earlier this year. While it initially held strong in the global rankings, it eventually slipped out of the Top 10 as other new anime shows premiered. However, Demon Slayer reclaimed its position after its Netflix premiere in the United States on October 31, 2024.

From October 28 to November 3, 2024, the series was the fifth most-watched non-English TV show globally, amassing over 10.3 million hours viewed and 2.6 million individual views in just one week. This achievement marked its non-consecutive ninth week in the Netflix Global Top 10.

Alongside Demon Slayer, other anime titles have also captured the attention of global audiences. Dan Da Dan, a supernatural series, has continued its successful run in Netflix’s Top 10, remaining in the rankings for four weeks with 6.1 million hours watched and 3 million views during the past week. It secured the second spot on the list. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball DAIMA, which premiered its latest iteration, made its second appearance in the rankings at number 10, with 1.8 million views and 2.4 million hours watched.

While Dan Da Dan and Dragon Ball DAIMA continue to garner attention, Demon Slayer is nearing the end of its anime journey. Instead of returning for a fifth season, the series will conclude with a trilogy of films, set to begin in 2025. Distributed globally by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, the final cinematic adventure will mark the end of the Demon Slayer saga.
