The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise, one of the most successful anime series in history, will not continue with a traditional Season 5. Instead, the beloved series will conclude with a trilogy of theatrical films that will adapt the final arc of the manga, known as the Infinity Castle arc.
After the conclusion of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s Hashira Training Arc in Japan (Season 4 on Netflix), the anime’s official channels confirmed that the Infinity Castle movie trilogy will take the place of a fifth season. The films will bring the dramatic finale of the series to life, offering fans a thrilling conclusion to the epic saga of Tanjiro Kamado and his companions.
Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment have secured the global distribution rights for the trilogy, with the exception of select Asian territories and Japan. While the exact release date for the films has not yet been confirmed, a trailer for Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle was unveiled on June 30, heightening anticipation for what’s to come. Given the series’ consistent annual release schedule since its debut, industry insiders speculate that the first film could hit theaters as early as 2025.
The Infinity Castle trilogy will likely focus on the Final Battle arc of the manga, which includes the Infinity Castle arc (chapters 137-183) and the Sunrise Countdown arc (chapters 184-205). This portion of the story will mark the climactic confrontation between Tanjiro and his allies against the demon king, Muzan Kibutsuji.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Demon Slayer is set in the Taisho Period of Japan, following Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy whose family is slaughtered by demons. His younger sister Nezuko is transformed into a demon, and Tanjiro resolves to become a demon slayer in order to avenge his family and find a cure for Nezuko.
The original Japanese voice cast, who have become iconic in their roles, are set to return for the final films. The confirmed cast includes:
- Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro
- Akari Kitō as Nezuko
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke
- Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu
- Toshihiko Seki as Muzan Kibutsuji
- Kana Hanazawa as Mitsuri Kanroji

- Kengo Kawanishi as Muichiro Tokito
- Tomokazu Seki as Sanemi Shinazugawa
