About the Series
Beastars, based on Paru Itagaki’s manga of the same name, originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion from 2016 to 2020, concludes with 196 chapters compiled into 22 volumes. Viz Media licenses the English version of the manga, which centers on the complex relationships at Cherryton Academy, where carnivores and herbivores coexist under tense circumstances. The story’s dramatic turn begins with the brutal murder of an herbivore student, with suspicion falling on Legoshi, a wolf. As his feelings for the dwarf rabbit Haru grow, his inner conflict deepens, leading to a thrilling exploration of identity and instinct.
In addition to Beastars, Itagaki’s other work, Sanda, is set to receive an anime adaptation in the near future.
