In a bold move, the upcoming anime “Detectives These Days Are Crazy!” has enlisted the talents of renowned voice actor Tomokazu Sugita, best known for his role as Gintoki in “Gintama,” to portray three distinct characters. Sugita will voice Chikubi Shishoku Ojisan, Cross Munage Ojisan, and Rope Daisuki Ojisan, collectively known as “The Big Four of Yabee Ojisan,” alongside Junichi Suwabe’s Keiichiro Nagumo.
The anime is based on the manga by Masakuni Igarashi, with direction by Rion Kujo, who previously worked on “Samurai Harem.” The cast also features Kana Hanazawa as Mashiro Nakanishi.
One Peace Books plans to release the manga on April 28, 2025, summarizing the story as follows:
The narrative centers around Keiichiro Nagumo, a once-great detective renowned for solving complex cases with ease. Fast forward a decade, and Nagumo is now an ordinary middle-aged man, shockingly out of touch with modern technology—he doesn’t even know what a smartphone is. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when a high school girl named Mashiro appears, eager to become his assistant. Together, they form a unique detective duo, bridging the generational gap in a world filled with eccentricities.
As the premiere approaches, fans are eagerly anticipating how this dynamic partnership will unfold on screen.
