Yuritaro’s acclaimed horror manga, Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai, has been confirmed for a TV anime adaptation, according to an announcement made today. Details regarding the release date, production staff, and voice cast have yet to be disclosed.
A teaser visual for the series was released alongside the announcement, featuring the intriguing taglines: “This secret, adults don’t know yet…” and “Set in a kindergarten, the strongest little girl is matchless; a horror action with a new sense now opens its gate!”
In a celebratory message, the original manga author expressed gratitude, stating, “Thanks to the support and efforts of our readers and everyone involved, an anime adaptation has been realized! I had never expected this. I can’t believe it…! Thank you so much! Please look forward to further news!”
Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai has been serialized on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch manga website since April 2022. The sixth volume of the series is set to be released in Japan on November 9.
The story follows Kaya, a notorious troublemaker in her kindergarten, and her teacher Chie, who is tasked with keeping an eye on her. While Kaya’s actions may seem mean, such as pushing her friend off the swing, she possesses a hidden talent—an ability to see spirits.
