Lockdown Zone: Level X marks the third light anime project from Animation ID, a collaboration between Imagica Infos and Dai Nippon Printing. This series follows the earlier releases of Moriarty’s Perfect Crime and Maarui Kanojo to Zannen na Kareshi, both of which debuted in 2024.

Originally a web novel by Romy Oishi, the series was first published in 2017 on the manga and novel app peep. Its popularity led to a manga adaptation illustrated by meshe, which was serialized in Futabasha’s Web Comic Action from July 2020 to March 2022. A webtoon adaptation produced by taskey STUDIO was also released in 2022.

The English edition of the manga, released by Denpa, summarizes the storyline as follows:

Ryoka is awakened by a flurry of text messages from her mother, who is clearly panicked and concerned for her daughter’s safety. However, she hesitates to explain the situation, believing that nothing could adequately convey the chaos unfolding around them. The world may be coming to an end, and a massive new life form might be lurking on the roof of their apartment building!

Fans eagerly anticipate the continuation of this gripping series as more details about the second season are expected to be unveiled in the coming months.
