Taku Kawamura, the creator behind the popular manga My Clueless First Friend, is preparing to launch his latest work, titled Yonehara-kun wa Tsuyo Tsuyo Gyaru kara Hanarerarenai (translated as Yonehara-kun Can’t Get Away from Strong Girls). The announcement was made in the November issue of Kadokawa’s Dragon Age magazine, which revealed that the manga will debut on November 9.
The new series centers around the character Yonehara, who finds himself the object of affection from two girls that were not in his class during previous school years. Their passionate displays of love for Yonehara provoke jealousy among the other 35 boys in his class, setting the stage for a dynamic and entertaining narrative.
Kawamura’s previous work, False Child (Uso no Kodomo), recently concluded on March 22 after its serialization began in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker in November 2022. The final volume of False Child was published on July 22, with digital versions available through Square Enix’s Manga UP! Global, Kadokawa’s BookWalker Global Store, and Comikey.
Additionally, Kawamura ended his four-panel comedy spinoff Kakegurui (Kakkokari) in September 2022. This series, based on the popular Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler manga by Homura Kawamoto and Tōru Naomura, was serialized in Gangan Joker starting in December 2016, with its final volume published in July 2023.
Kawamura is also known for My Clueless First Friend (Jijō o Shiranai Tenkōsei ga Guigui Kuru), which began serialization in Gangan Joker in June 2018. The first volume was published in Japan in October 2018, with the 19th volume scheduled for release on November 21. The series has gained additional popularity with its anime adaptation, which premiered in April 2023.
