Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 Releases Creditless Opening and Ending Videos

Fans of the isekai anime Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles can now enjoy the creditless versions of the opening and ending sequences from the highly anticipated second season. The anime’s opening theme, “Auftakt,” is performed by Aguri Onishi, known for her role as Ayumu in Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. The ending theme, “Harumachi Uta,” is sung by Nanaka Suwa, who voices Kanan in Love Live! Sunshine!! Both videos have been officially released and are available for viewing.

The second season is directed by Hiroshi Kubo, known for his work on Chio’s School Road, while Osamu Yamasaki, the director of the first season, now steps into a supervising role and continues as series composer. Returning staff members also include Kyoko Yufu as character designer and Yasuyuki Yamazaki as music composer. The animation is produced by TMS Entertainment and WAO World.

Story Overview

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is based on the light novels written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. The story follows Rio, a young orphan who grew up in the slums after his mother’s death. One day, Rio awakens to the memories of Haruto Amakawa, a man who died in an accident while dreaming of reuniting with his childhood friend. With memories of two lives, Rio realizes he has been reincarnated into a world filled with swords and sorcery.

After preventing the kidnapping of a princess, Rio is enrolled in a prestigious academy where children of nobility are trained. As he navigates the challenges of this new world, Rio encounters new allies and enemies, all while battling the weight of his intertwined destinies.

Streaming on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll, which streamed the first season of the anime, is simulcasting Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 for fans outside Japan. The platform provides the following description of the show: “A boy with memories of two lives faces his destiny as his past and current life collide. Struggling to rise from the bottom of a hierarchical society, he meets new friends and faces many challenges in his quest to overcome fate.”
