Fans of the Patlabor franchise have reason to celebrate, as the highly anticipated Patlabor EZY anime is set for a 2026 release. The project, originally announced in 2017, has generated excitement with the recent reveal of teaser art and key staff members. A pilot film was produced in 2022 and screened at select events in Japan, but additional production details remain scarce at this time.

Key Production Team and Studio Announced
Directed by Yutaka Izubuchi, Patlabor EZY will be produced by animation studio J.C. Staff. Kazunori Ito will handle the scriptwriting and series composition, while Takamitsu Sato takes on the role of character designer and chief animation director. Yasutomo Moriizumi will oversee CG direction, and the soundtrack will be composed by veteran Patlabor musician Kenji Kawai. The CG production will be handled by GAZEN, with GENCO overseeing the overall production.
