Netflix’s Upcoming Anime ‘Dandadan’ Promises an Eerie Adventure Just in Time for Halloween
A fresh trailer for Netflix’s highly anticipated anime series, Dandadan, has been released, giving fans a tantalizing glimpse into its supernatural and thrilling narrative.
The new trailer, viewable below, showcases the series’ blend of spooky and fantastical elements. The clip features protagonists Momo and Okarun embroiled in a whirlwind of paranormal events. Highlights include their encounters with zombie-like humanoids, disembodied hands, a UFO landing, explosive incidents, and confrontations with colossal monsters. The trailer also previews the show’s monster-themed opening sequence, set to the track “Creepy Nuts” by Otonoke.
The official synopsis of Dandadan teases a narrative filled with romance and occult conflicts: “The story of young love and occult battles begins in DANDADAN! When Momo and Okarun’s beliefs clash, they are thrust into a world brimming with ghosts, aliens, and awakened powers.”
The anime adaptation, based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s popular Shonen Jump manga, features a talented voice cast. Shion Wakayama voices Momo Ayase, Natsuki Hanae portrays Ken ‘Okarun’ Takakura, and Mayumi Tanaka voices Turbo-Granny. Other key cast members include Kaito Ishikawa as Jiji, Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase, Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo, and Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori.
Directed by Fuga Yamashiro, known for Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! and Tatami Time Machine Blues, and written by Hiroshi Seko, famed for Attack on Titan Final Season and Jujutsu Kaisen, Dandadan promises a captivating experience. Yukinobu Tatsu also serves as an executive producer, with Science Saru—recently recognized for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off—producing the series.
