The highly anticipated next installment in the Utano☆Princesama anime franchise has unveiled its official title and release date. The film, titled Gekijōban Utano☆Princesama♪ TABOO NIGHT XXXX (Taboo Night Kisses), is scheduled to premiere on May 9, 2025.
The production team for the film brings together familiar names from previous Utano☆Princesama works. Takeshi Furuta, known for directing Utano Princesama Maji Love Kingdom, will serve as chief director. Akiko Seki, who directed Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima, will take on the role of director. Character design will feature contributions from Chinatsu Kuruhana, credited with the original designs for the series, while Maki Fujioka, who worked on Maji Love Kingdom, will be the character designer for this film.
The plot of TABOO NIGHT XXXX will revolve around the QUARTET NIGHT unit, with Showtaro Morikubo voicing Reiji Kotobuki, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Ranmaru Kurosaki, Shota Aoi as Ai Mikaze, and Tomoaki Maeno as Camus. The group will not only star in the film but will also perform its main theme song, “TABOO NIGHT XXXX,” along with the insert track “JINN-Ω-RAY.” The new single is set to be released in Japan on December 25, 2024.
Sentai Filmworks, which has distributed previous Utano☆Princesama titles, provided a description of one of the franchise’s past films, Utano☆Princesama Maji LOVE Kingdom:
