The highly anticipated original anime film Fureru. has announced the addition of nine voice cast members, all of whom have previously collaborated on projects under the renowned Super Peace Busters umbrella. This new cast will be stepping into undisclosed roles, adding an air of intrigue to the film’s production.
The newly announced voice actors are:
Ai Kayano, known for her role as Menma in Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
Takahiro Sakurai, who voiced Yukiatsu in Anohana
Mutsumi Tamura, the voice behind young Jintan in Anohana
Asami Seto, who portrayed young Yukiatsu in Anohana
Aki Toyosaki, known for her role as young Poppo in Anohana
Mitsuru Ogata, who played Atsushi Yadomi in Anohana
Inori Minase, recognized for her role as Jun Naruse in The Anthem of the Heart
Koki Uchiyama, known for his portrayal of Takumi Sakagami in The Anthem of the Heart
Shion Wakayama, who voiced Aoi Aioi in Her Blue Sky
These actors are joining the project following their memorable performances in other acclaimed works by Super Peace Busters, including Anohana, The Anthem of the Heart, and Her Blue Sky.

The film is being helmed by the esteemed Super Peace Busters team: director Tatsuyuki Nagai (A Certain Scientific Railgun T), screenwriter Mari Okada (Maboroshi and Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms), and character designer and chief animation director Masayoshi Tanaka (Suzume, Darling in the Franxx). They are joined by music composers Masaru Yokoyama (Tsurune) and TeddyLoid.
Fureru. centers on childhood friends Aki, Ryo, and Yuuta, who gain telepathic abilities after encountering a mysterious porcupine-like creature named Fureru, a figure rooted in the folklore of their island hometown. The film promises to deliver a unique blend of magical realism and heartfelt storytelling, maintaining the signature charm of the Super Peace Busters’ creative legacy.
