Hello Kitty Teams Up with My Dress-Up Darling for an Adorable Anime Collaboration

Sanrio’s beloved Hello Kitty is joining forces with the popular anime series My Dress-Up Darling for a new collaboration, featuring exclusive artwork and merchandise. This exciting partnership is the latest in a series of collaborations for Sanrio, following recent projects with Oshi no Ko and The Rose of Versailles.

Announced on the Japanese brand PremiumStore’s website, the collaboration, officially titled “My Dress-Up Darling x Sanrio Characters,” will showcase a range of products that blend the worlds of these iconic characters. In this collection, My Dress-Up Darling’s Marin is paired with Hello Kitty, her cosplay alter-ego Shizuku-tan with Kuromi, Wakana Gojo with Dear Daniel, Sajuna Inui with My Melody, and Shinju Inui with My Sweet Piano.

The collaboration goods are set to go on sale on August 24 across four major cities in Japan. The launch will also include special exhibitions and exclusive purchase benefits for fans and customers. This follows PremiumStore’s previous announcement of a My Dress-Up Darling collaboration, which featured new anime artwork of Marin wearing a summer yukata. Additionally, the website highlights a clothing collaboration between My Dress-Up Darling and MILKFED, now available worldwide.

My Dress-Up Darling is the latest anime series to partner with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty and Friends. Other recent collaborations include Ranking of Kings, which offers a variety of merchandise such as stickers, coasters, and glasses cases. Last week, Sanrio also unveiled a new partnership with Oshi no Ko, the highest-rated anime series of Summer 2024 according to MyAnimeList. Furthermore, the iconic shojo series The Rose of Versailles is set to collaborate with Sanrio, as announced on August 1. Fans of The Rose of Versailles can also look forward to a reboot film by anime studio MAPPA in 2025.

In addition to these collaborations, Sanrio recently released a new set of gashapon toy charms in collaboration with Bandai, featuring Hello Kitty and seven other iconic characters in retro cassette tape designs, bringing back a touch of ’90s nostalgia.

The popular cosplay rom-com follows Wakana Gojo, a high school student aspiring to become a kashirashi, a master craftsman of traditional Japanese Hina dolls.
