In celebration of the announcement, author and illustrator Syundei has shared a new illustration featuring the manga’s main characters. The artwork depicts Hirose enjoying a glass of cream soda, accompanied by chibi versions of his classmates. This imagery captures the charming, whimsical style that has become synonymous with Syundei’s work.
“Go For It, Nakamura!” centers on Nakamura, a high school student grappling with his feelings for his classmate, Aiki Hirose. The series is renowned for its comedic take on the boys’ love genre, showcasing Nakamura’s humorous and often unsuccessful attempts to connect with Hirose. The manga’s distinctive art style draws inspiration from the 1980s and 1990s manga aesthetics, which has contributed to its nostalgic appeal.
At present, there is no information regarding the cast or production staff for the anime adaptation. While it is uncertain whether the anime will feature the same voice actors as the manga’s audio drama adaptation, it is worth noting that Kappei Yamaguchi and Junko Takeuchi voiced Nakamura and Hirose, respectively, in the audio drama. Yamaguchi is celebrated for his roles as Inuyasha in “Inuyasha,” Usopp in “One Piece,” and L in “Death Note.” Takeuchi is known for her iconic characters such as Gon in “Hunter x Hunter 1999,” Naruto in “Naruto,” and Endou in “Inazuma Eleven.
